oh no, kiddos!

Had dinner at Cassie's tonight. Damien and my log went to Kenny's bar (in Sunshine - woo hoo!) and we stayed back with the kids. It was actually the highlight of my week. But it's inevitable. If you're the one without kids and over 25, like me, there's gonna be someone that doesn't get it.. someone that thinks you're weird. Especially in a small town like Sunshine. I usually tell 'em to suck it. But I was in a laid back mood. Besides, Cassie knows me well enough to not ask about it anymore, but I know she wonders, and it takes everything she has not to poke around about it.. and she surely didn't try to stop her sister, Jackie, from asking me it either!

Now, I admit, sometimes they're cute. Cassie's 3-yr-old niece looked at my jeans with holes in them and said, "your jeans are broken." That was damn funny! And her nephew colored a picture of one of my boots, with fumes coming out the top of them.. you can't make that shit up! Leave it up to the honesty of a 5 year old to tell you your feet stink!

But at the end of the day, it sure was nice to go home to a quiet house. However lonely, no one depends on me for jack. I'm not responsible!!! All the screamin' and playin'... I don't know if I'd even be a good mom. I almost feel too fragile sometimes. Not even suggesting that's an option these days since my log doesn't even look at me thong behind.. but, ya know... the older I get, the more I wonder... am I making a bigger mistake if I don't have them, or if I do?

Thanks a lot, Wacky Jacky! This is exactly what I did NOT want to be thinking about tonight - KIDS!!!!
