Now what?

Blessing in disguise. Silver lining... Find the opportunity in the obstacle (link). These are thoughts I'm thinking today.
We won't be shooting LIS this April and May. We're not fully financed, yet, which is disappointing. We've all hauled ass in so many ways to manifest our goal! BUT, without a doubt, we have put in 100% effort, and the outcome is what it is. I choose the believe it's because our shoot is supposed to happen differently than we've been planning.
The question is, "What next?" It's time to look at what we have on the drawing board again. Is there anything we can do remarkably differently?
Can we make the movie for less than we've currently budgeted it? Should we aim to make it for more, relatively much more? What if we pooled resources/projects with a couple other similarly-vibed indie projects to raise funding for a "slate" of our movies, all together? How would that work? Who would those filmmakers be?
I think of producers I know of, doing interesting things like we're aiming to do: Zak Forsman, Mark Stolaroff, Chris Ohlson, Megan Gilbride, and others, and I wonder if there might be a way to pool our projects together as a "slate" somehow to attract financing...?
I think of topics related to our story like the passage of Turning 30, self-help/self-discovery modalities, personal/spiritual coaching, breaking self-destructive patterns, and more, and envision short vignettes, or perhaps complementary documentaries to create and feature here on our website.
Heck, maybe we should just make the movie with Finger Puppets. Ha!
Okay, maybe not.
Our new goal is to shoot this coming October and November. In the meantime, stay tuned as we update you on our next steps. And, thanks for reading!
