Life with Film

This week, I've learned a lot from doing little side jobs, particularly babysitting. As a filmmaker, our jobs are limitless. There is no line that we must stay behind. No job we must not try. No theory we must not entertain.
For me, a colorful, down-to-earth life, with people I adore, plays the biggest role in my contribution.
There are always a myriad of challenges we face as participants in life and film. Sometimes it's just about balance. Sometimes the universe likes to throw us little extras or curve balls. But somehow, we must stay focused, driven, honest, and sincere in our efforts to achieve what few people get to actually experience — the magic of making a feature film.
Watching and interacting with a 6-year-old child this week has been a gift. Children are awfully wonderful, witty, and fun. They really add a vitamin boost to any ordinary day. And when the day's all over, they have the ability to hold your face, sometimes unknowingly holding you up, and silently let you know it'll all be OK.
Right now, in between films, I'm finding myself working out of a bucket of odd jobs to make ends meet... but I'm also finding character, texture, and joy in doing so. What colors my world, colors the paper I write on, and consequently — the life I breathe.
Whatever you do — making the most out of every day is the only way to spend it. Wishing you the same joy and love to color your filmmaking world with.
